Dr. Huang Sunchao collaborates with Professor Wong Liang Jie since September of 2019, and joined his group in September of 2020 as a research fellow at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore. His research topic is developing tunable, table-top X-ray sources from the interaction of free electrons with van der Waals crystals.

Dr. Huang Sunchao received his Ph.D. degree in physics in 2019 from the University of Wollongong, Australia, where he was awarded a discovery project scholarship, faculty scholarship, higher degree research career launch scholarships, and examiners' commendation for outstanding thesis. His research topics spread over hot carrier relaxation, photo-mixing, thermionics, and dynamical polarization. His Ph.D. supervisor is professor Zhang Chao.

Huang Sunchao received his master's degree in 2016 from Anhui University, China. During his master's degree study, he spent one year of coursework study at the University of Science and Technology of China, 2013-2014, and two years of master’s thesis research at the Institute of Solid State Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, 2014-2016. His master supervisor is professor Zeng Zhi.
